Vineyards & Vistas — A Countryside Walk and Villa Picnic

A countryside walk on a quintessential gravel and tarmac road through the vineyards close to the wine-growing area of Canale and Botto, with far-reaching, glorious vineyard views. Afterwards, a picnic at a private villa with a short garden tour.

• Elevation gain: 280 metres
• Duration: approximately 1.5 hours

• Terrain: well-maintained gravel paths and good-quality tarmac road with very little traffic

About the picnic

• A brief garden tour, led by a former landscape gardener
• Main: handmade focaccia filled with roast porchetta from a local restaurant — a vegetarian option is available
• Dessert: your choice of flapjack or brownie
• Beverages: three drinks tickets for your choice of wine, juice or bubbles

What to bring and wear

• A small day pack for your essentials
• Water for the duration of the walk — a small bottle is provided for each guest at the start and end
• Snacks, if you like
• Sun cream: UV can be high even in October
• Sun hat and sunglasses
• Trainers or light walking boots are sufficient
• Waterproof gear, should it be a wet day

Good to know

• This event is self-drive / car pool. We will try to connect you with those who are willing to ride-share, but please consider that you will need to find your own way there.
• There are no toilets on the route, but guests may use the villa facilities before and after the walk.
• If it rains on the day the walk will still go ahead, barring a major storm, and the picnic area has covered options.
